Night Country is a dark western setting inspired by works like Blood Meridian, the Dark Tower series, and the mythology of the rural United States. In Night Country, a meteor from beyond our dimension has crash-landed in the southeast of the Great Continent, bringing about a dark age in which the laws of both men and reality are fundamentally altered.

In Night Country, the land of the Continent was once home to the Old Empire, its true name now lost to time and madness. Its collapse was brought about by the Wound in the World, a fragment of supernatural rock hurled at our planet from beyond this dimension. With the Wound came all manner of horrors, from eldritch entities and horrific mutations to supernatural powers and contagious madness. While some pockets of civilisation yet remain, it is a land largely ruled by monsters, warlords, and gods.
